Batteries charged, sewing complete (discorved I really hate sewing - never again!), found my box torch. All I need now is food and i'm all set for my first event
To add to the list of car hiccups my alternator sounds like its full of VERY angry bees, no time to replace though and as its still charging I'm adding it to the list of 'things to fix only when and if they cause a catastrophic failure.'
This is why I'm no longer a mechanic...

Wake up there, Muttley, you're dreaming again!
You're not Robin Hood and you're not Gunga Din.
You're not a brave knight or a king who's been crowned;
You're just plain old Muttley, the snickering hound!
Ditto. But add into that list 'An evening of changing an inaccessible starter motor on a Isuzu 1.7CDTi lump'...
Though, I may have time to try to get it done this evening *fingers crossed*
Huzzah! Changed the bugger is a record time! Less than 1.5hours including getting tool out and putting away again. Definitely not as easy as the Morris 1000 was to change the starter motor But now I can relax and worry about other things, like packing...
my Thompson I've managed to dismantle but can't seem to put back together again and now have a desk full of screws...
If you don't manage to sort it in time, bring it all along Friday night (if you are arriving Friday night?) and I'll reassemble it for you tout de suite. Taken mine apart far too often...

Cheers, mate. I'm too embarrassed/irritated to go near it at the moment. i'm going to give it to Dadio as the spring needs cutting; it's hot as all Hades at the moment.
The moral of the story, never attempt anything like that when you're having a bad day.

Very, very excited for this now. Have a day in the office to undertake first, but its sans management so it should be a breeze - then home, pack car, drive half way to folks for the night, then up to you all early in the morning.
I've got a very, very good feeling about this event!
Just been to Tesco to get my food. Now can start packing properly. Depth level "ein hunderd zwanzig!!"
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Dogs dropped off at Kennels, can start sorting things out now, unload all the electrical stuff from the van and load up Ww2 kit. But where are my new glasses? cant find them anywhere

On the top of your head, that's where my dad's always were.
Heh, food, water and diesel now purchased - now to squeeze all the boxes in the car!
As usual I've kept the excitement reigned in but I'm really looking forward to it now! Pile of assorted third reich gubbins to throw in the car tonight and then the early drive up tomorrow morning.
Fieldgear assembled, coconut water on standby, petrol tank filled, clear lenses fitted to my ESS Ice glasses.
Tomorrow predictions:
Too hot: Maybe. Getting wet: Probably. Having fun: Definitely.
I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.
I'll get excited later i hope ,this afternoon i'm dog tired and just want to kill the children ,if i can just channel that into excited and wanting to kill the allies all will be fine

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
